While you  have paid the travel costs to come down to this lovely part of Cornwall, why not extend your stay to give yourself a mini-break?

The St. James Guest House, Torpoint is a great place to stay if you want to travel around this forgotten part of Cornwall. Nearby we have the beautiful Mount Edgcumbe Deer Park, twin villages of Kingsand and Cawsand as well as wonderful views from Rame Head.

You can spend a day strolling around the fishing villages of Looe and Polperro or venture up onto Bodmin Moor, maybe enjoying lunch at Jamaica Inn.

If bargain shopping attracts you then Trago Mills, now a bigger retailer than Harrods, can offer amazing value if you have never been there before and the area is full of good inns and pubs offering fine foods at the right price.

Plymouth is of course very close. On the Hoe, Drake reportedly played bowls whilst awaiting the Spanish Armada and at the nearby harbour, the Pilgrim Fathers set off for America.

If you stay for four days instead of two, you will benefit from a lower room rate and remember, you have already paid your travel costs.

We will be able to advise you on where to go, whatever the weather, to make sure that you really make the most of your time here in South East Cornwall.
